Minor Requirements

Students may earn a minor in French, Italian, or Spanish by completing 28 GRADED credits in upper-division (300- or 400-level) courses, passed with C- or better, in one language area. Internship credits, always taken Pass/No Pass, DO NOT apply toward major or minor requirements.

At least 12 credits must be in language courses, and 12 in literature courses.  A minimum of three literature credits (12 credits) must be taken on the Eugene campus.

4 additional upper-division credits must be taken in an elective area (e.g., language, literature, linguistics, film, culture, history, art history, etc.).

All courses for the minor must be taught in the target language and address the target culture. Readings in courses taken for the minor must be in the target language.

A. Language (301, 303, 305, 307*, 311, 320, 416 etc.)  *307 is a two-credit oral class and may only be taken twice

B. Literature, linguistics, or film, in-residence on Eugene campus  (315-319, 328-333, 407, 420, 425, etc.)

C. Elective (courses in literature, linguistics, film, grammar, culture; must be upper division, taught in target language, and address the target culture(s)) 4 credits
